Chapter 04 — The Process

From coffee chat to launch day.

No mystery, no jargon, no “we’ll get back to you”. Five honest steps, and you can watch every one of them happen.

How we work

Five steps. Zero surprises.

You’ll always know what’s happening, what it costs, and what comes next. Most projects launch in four to eight weeks.

Step 01

Coffee chat

Thirty minutes, on us. You talk about your business; we ask annoying questions about your customers. You leave with honest advice — even if the advice is “you don’t need us yet”.

30 minutes · free
  • We listen more than we talk
  • You get a straight yes/no on whether we’re the right fit
Step 02

Sketch

We map your project on paper first: pages, flows, and exactly what “success” means in numbers. Then you get a fixed quote and a timeline — in writing, before any work starts.

Week 1 · fixed quote
  • Sitemap and user flows, sketched by hand
  • One fixed price, no hourly meters running
Step 03

Sculpt

Design and build happen together, in weekly cycles. Every Friday you get a link to click through real progress — not a PDF of promises. Feedback goes straight in, no telephone games.

Weeks 2–6 · weekly previews
  • Live preview link from week two
  • Your feedback shapes the next cycle
Step 04

Launch

We handle hosting, domains, SSL, analytics and the search-engine handover. Your team gets a plain-English walkthrough video so nobody’s afraid to touch the thing.

Launch week · we do everything
  • Tested on real phones, not just our laptops
  • Google set up properly from day one
Step 05

Grow

Thirty days of free tweaks after launch, then a simple care plan if you want one. We watch the numbers with you and tell you plainly what’s working and what we’d change next.

Ongoing · optional care plan
  • 30-day post-launch tweaks included
  • Quarterly check-ins on your numbers
The WEBSCULPT promise

Three promises, in writing.

Every proposal carries these. Not as marketing — as clauses.

01

The quote is the price.

Fixed in writing before we start. If scope changes, you approve a new number first — nothing ever lands on an invoice as a surprise.

02

Late launch, shrinking invoice.

If we miss the launch date we agreed and it’s our fault, the final invoice drops 10% for every week until it ships. We’ve never paid out.

03

You can leave anytime.

Domain, hosting, code and content are in your name from day one. No lock-in, no hostage situations — leaving is a handover, not a break-up.

Fair questions

Asked by almost every client.

Websites typically start around $4,500, booking systems from $6,000, and web apps & automations from $8,000. Every project gets a fixed written quote after the sketch step — the number we quote is the number you pay.

Most websites launch in four to six weeks; booking systems and web apps in six to ten. You’ll see a live preview from week two, so you’re never wondering where things are at.

Yes — the design, the code, the domain, the hosting account, all of it. It’s registered in your name, on accounts you control. If you ever leave, everything goes with you. No hostage situations.

Usually, yes. We’ve connected practice-management software, Xero, payment gateways, SMS providers and plenty of ancient spreadsheets. If a system has an API or an export button, we can almost always talk to it.

We’ll look at it honestly in the coffee chat. Sometimes a rebuild is right; sometimes you just need a booking system bolted on or the slow bits fixed. We’ll tell you which — the cheapest good option wins.

We do, if you want us to — care plans cover updates, backups, small changes and priority support. If you’d rather self-manage, we hand over a walkthrough video and cheat sheets, and we’re still a phone call away.

Your turn.

Tell us what your business needs — a website, an app, an automation, or bookings that fill themselves. First chat is on us, the advice is free, and if we’re not the right fit we’ll say so and point you to someone who is.
